Im getting ready to move and think im going to try and sell some parts that i have.

It would be nice to get some additional info on them before i post them for sale.

I have the original Hi-rider tank, seat and sissy bar... but i also have these (see below). Sticker on the bottom says G.R.P. but i have never heard of them? (not that i should have) I know these were bought in the 70's.

Anyone have any info one them?

RON!! Good find brother!

That sure looks like what it is to me! Mind sharing where you got that picture? i have another set thats on the bike now that looks to be of a similar style.

GRP is short for Glass Reinforced Plastic, otherwise known as Fiberglass. Not for street use as it will crack and spill gas in an accident.

I believe they are Gus Kuhn. My combat has the same seat and the smaller version of that tank, both of which are genuine Gus Kuhn.

You can google Gus Kuhn, there are catalog pages on their site from back in the day showing the different pieces they offered.

Fibreglass tanks were outlawed on new street bikes in the mid '70s, but every Commando before (approximately) '72 left the factory with a fibreglass tank.
The practical issue is modern fuel with ethanol will dissolve the resin in the tank in fairly short order, so it will need to be coated with a suitable resin - Caswell's seems to be popular here
