Swing arm lubricant

I used to make oversize stainless pins with 1/8" holes instead of the small ones.I drilled 6 at each end.The stainless pins were drilled and tapped in 2 places about 1" each side of centre so they could be bolted in place and pull the pin tight against the sidewall of the cradle. It helped to stop the cradle wear. I reamed the cradles and machined the stainless pins to match. The stainless pins also did not rust and seize in.The extra holes helped put more 140 wt oil to the bushings.

What you should do is flush out all of that greese and refill with GL1 140w. 80-90w leaks. Stuff like STP won't soak into the sintered bronze. Anything other than GL1 could damage the bronze bushings. Crazy Oil carries GL1 for about $2.50 a quart. That is pretty much a lifetime supply. When in doubt about lubrication, read the manual.
