Suspension Setup

I’m contemplating visiting K-Tech (UK) to have my Ohlins suspension set up to match my weight.

What’s the general experience with your suspension; has it been fine as standard (do they come with a consistent setting from the factory) or have you had to make adjustments (to sag, compression/rebound damping)?

Reason for contemplating this is that the bike gets upset at the slightest touch of front brake on corner entry, way more than my Ducati does.

Why not have a go yourself first? Start by taking a note of current settings. Adjust by one or two clicks at a time, and take note of how it affects the bike on the same bit of local road that you know and like. Eventually, you’ll arrive at a setting you like, instead of one that a stranger (albeit professional) thinks will suit you.

I’d just prefer to have a better baseline to start from.

I had the same setup done on my Ducati and the suspension on that was great, no need for further tweaks.

I can highly recommend getting it setup by a professional that knows what they’re doing. The best £70 I’ve ever spent on a bike. The guy I used is based near me in Southampton and spent over an hour on it. The front forks were miles too soft and around 15mm too low, with the rears too hard. As a consequence, the bike felt very ‘downhill’. It now rides and handles like an absolute dream.

As an aside, the guy was very complimentary about the bike and the quality of the Ohlins kit in general.
