Stops running

I was on the freeway, had done 30+ miles, the motor started missing and stopped running, left it a few minutes started again but will only run about 1/4 mile before it happens again, full of fuel, new premiers, that is not the problem. AAA flatbed home...... It will start from cold, when warm it will start missing & coughing & cut out again, any ideas, it has to be electrical. 850 MK3 Boyer ignition.......?

Battery voltage? Off? Idling? at 3K? Ignition switch? Kill switch? Coils have been known to act like that.

TEST, don't guess.... :mrgreen:

Measure the battery voltage FIRST.

If its not charging, and the battery has plain gone flat, no amount of ignition parts swapping will cure it ?

Check to see if the wires from your points are touching your exhaust system. If they are, the motor will start and run until the exhaust melts the insulation which "shorts-out" the ignition and kills the motor. Twenty minutes later, it will start again.
