Lots of opinions on a number of different opportunities- thanks. I'm going to send my speedo to Joel, and will report back on the results.
I think sometimes that with 40+ year old equipment, you have to take your chances. My basic motivation is that I have had too many speeding tickets so i need to get this fixed to avoid accidentally getting another one. Silly as this may sound, but 60+ in a 45 mph zone is about $200 for the first hit and about $400 for the second hit, so $250 to fix the speedo isn't bad. If that doesn't work, the digital is next.
