I guess it's the same old arguement, ... Is it worth more in the box or out of the box.

I personally think it would be worth more as an assembled bike, especially if the owners business could still
assemble it..... Sold as new, assembled by Norton Dealer.

I meet Sonny every time for the last 8 years on the saltflats - he is a nice guy. Went to his shop in 2006 and had a look around. There is plenty of the stuff that we like. If you are in the area, go there and sniff around a bit. It looks as if its still 1975 - apart from a couple newer bikes. Say hello to Sonny and Don from Hartmut
The views of the crate are most interesting. If I'm ever forced to sell mine then I'll build a replica of that, cut a small hole in it and sell it on eBay !... 
I might need to put 'Spec' on it instead of 'Std'.
MPH Std RD - Miles per Hour Standard Roadster ?
MK3 - Not written as we usually do it.
RH4 - Were there alternative heads on Mk3s ?

Clearly the understanding at that time when stencilling the crates was that all engines began with a '32' and all the frames with '12' - I'd guess that this was January or February 1975 ? It also makes it clear that what is now often termed the 'VIN' plate was no such thing and simply confirmed the engine number. The frame number was the F1...series number stamped on the headstock and surely that should be known as the 'VIN' ?

And all you have to do is polish part of the swingarm, one rear shock, the back wheel and rear disk....
I like the comment about the rear disk not rusting.
Since the disk was lightly chromed to prevent it rusting on the showroom floor, you'd hope not.
P.S. Wonder where they stash the mufflers in that crate, since they are obviously not fitted ?
Be interesting to see a view when its opened.

You're quite right to say that Norton discs didn't rust in the showroom. It took two or three hard stops to begin the uneven wear pattern !
The silencer brackets are quite corroded. They were chrome on Mk3s, weren't they ? (It's been so many years since I replaced mine with stainless).
