Perhaps this will be the source of new parts.
Pretty sad. Just seen on Instagram now.

I don't do social media, so who is this referencing, Jinlang?
They bought the rights to produce the 961 mill.
At the very least we could have access to crappy Chinese replacement parts.
It's better than no parts at all.

If you think they’ll produce and sell parts, good luck. What’s sad is, all along it was China made. But good ole Stuart the pension fund Gambler lied and is a sell out.
I know they bought the rights to the 961 some time ago, but I don’t see spares becoming available.

So what are they doing with the engine? Was the deal tied up in a sole source to Norton type deal, thus preventing them selling engines and parts to the public?

Just goes to show how good a salesman Garner is. When did China last worry about respecting patents and copyright?

So they have a Commando on the stand as well - how does that fit into the Chinese scheme of things?????

Solihull (near Birmingham) is the location of the new Norton Factory.

They don't seem to be responding to anybody at the moment unfortunately.

Well, back to the Jinlang issue again.
Are they intending to build a 961 machine, will they offer spares for existing 961's?
Will tvs carry Jinlang parts for 961 owners.
Will we actually see a new Norton before the fourth Millennium?
Will Fonzi jump the shark.
Will ....

Is this China or Taiwan ? This may explain why Norton doesn't sell us parts ?

It says below the pictures that they "bought all the patents and the right to produce", so may well explain current issues.
If you fill in the registration of interest for a 650 twin TVS will respond quite quickly, i did just to see what would happen :).

Remember people that if they in fact do start supplying parts it could end quickly as some implied liability concerns could pop up and they (TVS) doesn't want to start cover other issues after supplying those parts if things go bad with lets say a clutch basket failure as a replacement item. Also, how many "parts" do they really have because small runs of parts becomes really expensive for what amounts to an end run product. Look at the recent cush rubber discussion. how many were needed to place an order?

Best situation will be they sell whatever spare stock they have right now but I would imagine that's its.

I say all that while having three bikes here in the shop right now that need various items, and one with a seriously electrical/ecu issue and the others with trans and engine issues.

Norton have to get their parts from somewhere ? Maybe this firm is where they will come from. If Norton will make 40 more Commandos this may be what happens.
