I've decided to entrust my Combat to a highly recommended expert for some work that I'm not confident doing, and frankly don't have the time for. I needed to get the bike to him but couldn't find someone with a van.

I finally decided that as the bike does run I'd ride it his place so bolted on the required bits (seat etc). So this morning I rode the bike the 12 or so miles from mine to his through beautiful Royal Deeside here in Scotland. First ride in about 4 years!! Simply superb.....

I just can't wait to get the bike back and get back into some regular riding, it's been toooooo looooong ;)

I'm sorry, but this post is utterly useless without at least ONE photograph...

Oh I'm sorry. Was just trying to convey the joy of riding my commando again after 4 years.

If there's an admin around please delete this useless post.

Apologies to all.

cheers

That won't do it.

You MUST post photos of the bike and previously mentioned countryside.

What are you having done to it?

I think all may be forgiving, Good to hear your bike is up and running. But we do fancy photo's of members bikes! Nothing like a ride on a Commando.

I am sick and tired of Grandpaul writing threads in this forum. He is supposed to be finishing up the update to his book. I am waiting for his E-mail that it’s completed so I can order it.

No more posts from him until he finishes the book. I’m tough, but I’m fair.

Do agree about the photo.

The new chapter is done!

I just sent an advance (digital) copy to a BritBike buddy whom I'm helping publish his book. It should only take the publisher 2 weeks to get the new batch of copies back to me.

Sorry if I sounded over the top, it's one of my usual posts/replies as I like to see pix of EVERYONE'S bikes!

I wish every thread HAD TO HAVE pictures.

I'll get some of the Blue Ridge roads one of these days.

Hmmm....some people only like magazines with pictures :)

I just get them for the articles...

Since this thread desperately needs a picture I dutifully volunteer this classic:

Smiling Like a Cheshire Cat

I hadn't noticed the bike was yellow. :)
Better hope your Combat hasn't got sweptbacks on, d, Granpaul not keen on them!
