Ugh over looked electric interference/RF stuff, what did you source for shielded trigger leads, barely enough room for plain Jane insalliton wires. Once analog Boyers dialed in, placed in safe place and leads upgraded they are good to go for decades, if requiring a tad more throttle twist delay to get spunky.

I'm not kidding, check the voltage at the boyer, not the battery. If it's got an assimilator check the voltage at the battery end of it. Bypass the ignition switch for now. But do all these other suggestions too.

In my honest opinion, if your are going to take advantage of a EI, then you should go all the way. 5 ohm duel output Dyna coil, get rid of waste like warning light assimilator, starting capacitor 2mc. Get a 200 watt stator and matching Podtronics Reg/Rec and loose the zener and the rectifier.

You have eliminated the the ballast resistor and the condenser haven't you?

It's only my opinion and I believe well worth concidering.

All in all you will lose 7 things and gain 4, generally and unitarily speaking.

There are two marks with red paint on them. I was guessing it was the big marker. My husband just tried it with the other marker. Still no life... We are out of ideas.

Please check the mark is on top dead the rotor might have slipped, key missing or something. It really does sound like it's firing on the bottom of the stroke. Other than that how old are the plugs?

No bike will start with fouled plugs.

Ok all... It was the timing. Called a friend who has been working on Norton's for many years. I was not doing the timing right. He walked me through it and she fired up on the third kick. YES!!!! I'm stoked. Thank you all for the help. I think I will post a how to on youtube to show how to time it. If you have never done it before, reading it just doesn't make any since. MANY, MANY THANKS...

I still need to set the timing with a light and get the carbs adjusted. I'm just happy to hear her running. Maybe when the timing is adjusted, I wont have to have my hubby start it for me. LOL

Will you keep the Dunstall tank and seat. The fiberglass tank might give problems with ethanol fuel.

Yes to the tank, no to the seat.

I had the tank sealed and use Cheveron fuel. There is a non ethanol gas station a few town away. I was planning on get a 50-100 storage tank to fill so I can use that as much as possible.

I plan on putting a cafe style single seat on it. I already took the front Dunstall fender off. I have been looking for a classic front fender in bad shape so I can cut it down a bit.

Starting an old bike tip number one. Check the the oil is flowing back to the tank.

The engine seems to be moving around a bit, is there a head steady?

For Dunstalls it seemed pretty quite, maybe it's the 2-1 header.

No there not. I may be a girl, but I got that part right.

They can be correctly color-coded and connected, but still misfire unless you swap them. Believe me, many here have reported this problem.

EDIT after seeing the rest of the post; i see you got it going, that's great.
