We are currently travelling the North Coast 500 route (NC500) by hire card anti-clockwise.
There is another week of full sun predicted, so a really good time to be in the area : you will need to book accommodation ahead unless camping, and so far the motor homes have not been a problem on the road . Tomorrow c Saturday 17th there is a classic bike day in Ullapool, so I can see that before we move on!
Plenty of touring bike groups around enjoying the emptyish winding roads and jaw dropping scenery, with the intense yellow wild gorse flowers too, which have a coconut scent!

Just arrived for first visit to village of Plockton ( near the Isle of Skye) where there was a ratty pre-unit Triton propped against the harbour stone wall, with an old speedo with no visible pointer to be seen… and a smart black Triton too: the two owners were part of a group I chatted to at the hotel after dinner.
They had taken the turntable ferry to Skye from Glenelg, the last of it’s kind anywhere, and the original vehicle route to the island.
