SCAM Alert!

I posted a "wanted" listing here for an alloy tank and "FrankHH" said he had one for $400 including shipping (should have seen that as a red flag).

He wouldn't take payPal, personal check or even USPostal money order, he insisted on a Moneygram that uses a phone number (red flag #2).

I sent trhe moneygram, and to make a long story short, I basically threw away $400.

Bottom line - GET A REAL ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, ETC.!!! The phone number used for the moneygram turned out to be some sort of a pay-for-use phone number that gives you a trite little message then hangs up on you.

Two alerts..and still sent you hard earned :?:

He has scammed so many - can't someone find him and pay him a visit with a baseball bat?

ALWAYS get an address and phone # and then look it up on the web.

I posted a wanted ad for a RH10 head. A guy on Access Norton with the screen name "John Tickle" told me he knew someone in Canada who had one for $300.00
I contacted him and he said he wanted $400.00 plus shipping and for me to send him the money and he would send me the head.
I asked if he had paypal and he said no. His email was bmwed@rogers.com.
It seemed like there were too many different names involved so I passed on it.
Turns out he posted it in the "for Sale" section and "Worntorn" bought it. Did you get the head ok?
Damn it but I just didn't want to take the chance without some kind of purchase, fraud guarantee like paypal would give.

BTW, I am still looking for a RH10 head

I found one yesterday that has been recoed by Kelly cork. He is probably one of the most notable norton guys on the east coast of Australia. I can look into it further and talk to Kelly on the phone if you like?
The guy selling it said it was for a mkiii. He is a Vincent man so knows not a lot bout norton stuff I think!!
Anyway, it looked pretty smick with polished ports etcetera.
It is in Australia but I have done this sort of stuff a few times for forum members.
I bought a set of spanners for renniek from nz, had them shipped to aus, then on to canada. Geez that was a long event but no-one on trade me in nz uses paypal and the guy would only accept direct deposit. I ended up sending a spare visa debit card to a friend in Auckland who in turn deposited the cash as international money transfer costs a fortune in fees.
Needless to say rennie was ever so happy and I felt good helping out a fellow nortoneer!!!

Thanx for that contact info, although I'm pretty sure this is a lost cause. No doubt the phone number is long since changed, as this is not "right away"

It doesn't hurt to post names and numbers in case some one does a search and finds it.

I finally found out about the guy named Marshall Hagey in Chicago, but I eventually got my money back from him after I went to the Attorney General of Cook County. It took over a year, but if it's out of the US all bets are off. Credit cards are the safest, but you still only have a month to contest.
