Back when I was a timid little girl on my 1st no name '72 [ maybe a dozen standards actually sold once Combat supply bombed out] I had my ovaries jerked to outside air cooling from riding hazards and mechanical failures so often I ran out of gaskets before stupid ignorant excuses to rationalize going out again for more of the same. The No Name '72 became my Ms Peel which finally ended up with only two gaskets left in engine, only TS cover to space oil pump sealing and a good quality Flamering gasket. Only a few wise old timers in Britain and hohoho-bot know there's no reason to use gaskets in AMC boxes but to cause lay shaft shim hassles. I know of a few smart builders [names withheld to avoid forum reflex put downs unless they care to expose themselves to it like me or Phil Yates who invites it too] that run w/o a head gasket so that only leaves TS gasket and oil pump sealing to figure out going without. I know how to seal head w/o gaskets and compensate push rod lengths [Hylomar + organic natural fiber] but seek some advce on TS cover to oil pump spacing sealing.

Wesley holding the last thing I expect to use again from a gasket package while shaking his head curmudgeoning me on another bad idea he's going to assist me in with a hammer, long levers or cordless hole driller in hand gleam in eye ... Now I see its another waste of wood pulp to be done with and minor case shim removal to lay flat with a bit more clutch basket space behind it.
