Riding the P11 rattler around the block.

This video was a sound test ride to see if I got the setup close with a pair of DGI Mic Mini Tx wireless microphones for use playing with video capture using a DGI Action 5 Pro camera. The closest good ride to shoot video of is 70 miles away. Not in the mood for doing that today. Hope to get some video riding the winding forested backroads this summer. Also hope I keep the rubber side down when doing it.

What you may note is my exhaust on the throttle does not sound like a Norton with a pair of peashooters. It may sound like other Norton 750's with 2 into 1 exhaust, which is what I have. It is a Schwany modified Bub pipe, nothing exotic like a Maney pipe. The exotic part is the guy riding it. Or maybe that should be psychotic. lol

Also my idle is a lopey thing when the engine is not fully warmed up. Norton 2S cam advanced 2 degrees with a JS 2 degree stepped cam key. I know it can't possibly make a difference especially if you've never tried one with a 2S cam in my engine. Most of the rattle is either piston slap, ringing tappets, or my rod big ends. I run the 2S with .010 Int .010 Ext lash, so it is always noisy. Speed limit is 25mph. I think I may have tapped 60 mph totally by accident of course.



And the RGM clutch makes a bunch of noise when the engine is idling lowish.

How do you think it sounds compared to real life? I always think my bikes sound terrible on video, even if I like the way they sound in real life.

It's closer to reality with the camera in a ches harness using the remote microphones with deadcats on them to kill the wind noise. In real life my exhaust is very different from a typical Norton and louder than it is with the deadcats. It basically sounds the same as a Maney exhaust on a well tuned 750. I had the camera on a bar mount initially without the remote mics and the in-camera mic pics up all kinds of clanging and clacking I never hear in my helmet and severely distorts the engine sound using the wind suppression features. Sounds like I'm riding a whiny electric car with valve train clatter and a bad differential. So weird I would never post it on the interweb. I figured this video was good enough to post since I'm not trying to sell parts or anything else.

Anywho, the short answer is using just the camera without the remote mics it can sound like the engine is ready to come apart.

Thanks for the complement. Unusual. Members here are usually trying to tell me what I'm doing that is wrong or what won't work. lol

It's quick, handles, stops well enough, and looks good in a funky old motorcycle way doing it.

The green thing is a dual brake cable splitter for the big 4LS drum on front. Wish I'd never put that brake on the bike, but it does work well enough and the weight helps keep the front end down when accelerating hard. Dual discs would be an safer improvement. However, the 4LS is leaps and bounds better than the little 7" SLS drum brake that came stock on a P11. That little brake was inadequate and dangerous for me on the street.

You can tell on video when a bike has some balls and this one does.

Yeah it does have some get it done. Pretty sure it makes more HP much sooner than a stock P11.
