Just got an email exhorting me to buy Apple's latest offering - the iPhone 18. I do use, and like, Apple's gear (let's not start an "oil" thread!) but this ad blew me away...

Can someone tell me of one device that is cooled (by air, water, oil, ANYTHING) that is not "thermally" cooled. Cooling itself is a thermal process.

This is what happens when you let half-wit advertising types free without adequate oversight.

Actually, the advertising is geared to the half-wits that drool over this stuff. "they're high-tech"

There is a distinct difference between a "builder" and a "contractor".

One does the actual building, the other contracts the tradespeople and (supposedly) monitors the construction to ensure that it follows the specifications of the engineer(s) and architect(s).

There can be fuzzy areas where a Builder performs the majority of the construction (slab, frame, roof, walls, doors, windows), but is also a contractor who subcontracts certain trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) to other smaller firms.

I'd prefer an Architectural Engineer. My older brother was one. WAY less finger-pointing.
 
My dad was a house builder back in the 50s build war service homes in my local area, a work crew of 4 builders, all hardwood houses built on stumps, only had hand tools, hammer, nails and a bar of soap, hand saws, string lines, a level, an angle/square gauge and of course the builder pencil as well a sharp knife.
Builder today have it so easy, nail guns, building with soft woods and mostly build on concrete slabs, frames and roof trusses arrive on trucks already made from a factory.
