Volks Wagons use a black rubber hose with a braided cloth cover for fuel, fuel injection, vacuum and breathers. It comes in sizes 3.5mm to about 14mm. It is easy to find at parts houses here in the U.S. but I have not been able to get any specs on pressure or temp for it. It says "Germany" on the cover along with some numbers that have no meaning to me. I have been lead to believe it is in use on other German autos as well.

If anybody can find the specs for this hose I would like to hear back on it. I am thinking about using it for oil lines.
This quest is inspired by another thread here on oil lines but I decided not to post anything in reference to it there since I have been unable to find the data.

Thanx in advance,
Russ

Russ,

Check Walridge Motors online catalog page 36. They list the original herringbone hose. I bought some years ago and it was a match.

(Make that page 35 or 36 depending on your pdf reader). By the way, the hose had the rubberized cloth covering like the original.

Thanx Bob, I went ahead and used the hose even without the data. Here is what I ended up with. Lousy photo but you will get the idea.
