I hope CPU stuff is it, mine came from an electronics shop so probably the same stuff.Glob it around the sensor, the bit that will sit in the recess beyond the threads, plenty but not so much that the hole is overfilled.I believe the idea is to improve the heat transfer between the probe and the heat source.
