Repeat ?

A sweet Norton restoration if I have ever seen one. OK, so it is more of a resto-mod, but I still find it to be rather tasty. The interesting bits are numerous, but the Aprilia V-twin engine powering it seems to say enough for this post. Really, you owe it to yourself to go and learn about the Taimoshan Cycle Works and the owner of it all, John Pellew.

and if thats no bloody good , try one of these .

Yes, that is the mountain at Cadwell Park.
The Scott looks like the one that Roger Moss campaigns.
To see more like that, go and see British Historic Racing in action. They are at Lydden in Kent at end of this month.
Also at Cadwell end of September, well worth watching them up through Coppice or up the Mountain or through Hall Bends. Don't forget the sidecars - especially the Big Wheelers - mad as toast..

Thanks Mark. But I did all my motorcycle spectating when I was younger, I even had a motorcycle a season pass for Brands Hatch & Mallory Park, I saw more races up and down the country that you will ever know. For example in just one weekend I went to work for overtime Statuary morning cycled home had a quick bite and a mug of tea, road a Velo Venom to brands for the clubman’s race meeting, road home for dinner, went to Wembley for the world speedway final, road to Luton for an overnight kip on my sister’s sofa, then went to the International meeting at Cadwell Park before returning home again exhausted. Sight, those were the day’s, as I look back with rose tinted spectacles :D

I wonder about the technology used in a Scott Squirrel which is being raced these days in historic racing. There was a Bantam racing here a while back which was obviously full of Yamaha parts, the barrel was markedly too short, and it did an awful lot of gear changes . The argument is used that 'it could have happened'. There is one of our top guys who has just bought a Suzuki XR69, we are not supposed to notice that the motor is based on a 5 speed, four valve GSX1100 instead of a 6 Speed CR, two valve GS1000 motor with race cams. It is all bullshit. My feeling is that is not what historic racing should be about, and that open formula classic racing with technology based classes would be more honest.

No good bleating here.
We are a long way from that here.

Get on the racing forums and stick it up them.
