No! I know what a spot weld is in the US. I have no idea what a tack weld is called in other countries. My point was that from context it was very clear what he was saying and he clearly talked about fully welding once sure that the length and angle are correct. I have also heard people say "spot it" to keep alignment before full welding - meaning put a spot of MIG/TIG/ARC/etc. in a few spots.I don't normally see you nitpicking words out of sentences which is so popular here, so I assumes that you missed the rest. I shouldn't have assumed that you didn't read it all.
