Hi LAB,
i have read the through the threads regarding capacitors and i have seen it mentioned that if the capacitor is removed the brown/blue wires should be joined together. my bike is a MK3 and i removed the capacitor as it was draining the battery. i never joined the Brown/Blue, wires, i just checked they were insulated and put them out of harms way.
i put a meter across the battery with the motor running and my battery is getting is getting just under 14v when revved.
Is there any benefit to joining these wires together? i have looked at the wiring diagram and can see no benefit. your input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

As power is getting to the ignition switch and the electrics are working normally then there's nothing to worry about so no need to join the two 2MC brown/blue wires together and doesn't affect charging in this instance.

Most Commando harnesses, however, use the 2MC as a junction for the brown/blue wires and when disconnected from the 2MC, the power to the ignition switch is cut off so in that situation the brown/blue wires need to be joined together (and why the advice is often given to do so).

Great, thanks for the quick reply
