Hello.
Straightnees being a question of degree and myself lacking experience, can anyone quantify "Make sure your pushrods aren't bent" for me please.
I have solid Aluminium rods with the ends tapered down to parallel spigots onto which the hard steel tips are pushed/glued. (Andover I think).
I'm very happy with the exhaust pushrods but a little doubtful about the inlet ones.
On dismantling I found that each inlet rod had one loose end - a ball end on one rod, a socket end on the other.
So I took these off (tugging and wiggling with a mole grip) cleaned them with acetone and stuck them back on with loctite 638.
However all 4 inlet rod ends show some wobble when rotating in a lathe - being held by the (nice straight) shafts.
The worst end, at the worst point gave 0,15mm (6thou) of wobble - the others from 3 to 4 thou.
It doesn't sound much but you can see it quite easily.
Any advice thankfully received. Cheers, Pete.

If you're concerned it's a fairly inexpensive swap, I replaced my aluminium rods with Chrome Moly rods from KPMI
