Its always a PIA locating pushrods when fitting a head no matter how many times you do it. I've been developing a new lifter material design and testing it on a Spintron for weeks - assemble - disassemble back and forth all day long. Problem is you can't see the exhaust rocker end where if meets the ex pushrod. I finally figured out that you can lay some 3/8" rubber tubitng between the head and cylinder so that you can tilt the rockers down to meet the pushrods and visibly verify that all the rocker ends are located on the pushrods. Slide out the rubber tubes and lower the head - BINGO. No more cursing.
