Well after having the bike for nearly two weeks the dealer charged me £50 and fitted the old tyre and a new inner tube and I got the bike back a couple of days ago. The delivery man noticed a loose exhaust clamp and nipped it up, which made me wonder if a silencer had been taken off to remove the wheel. I never did discover how they did it. (My latest idea is to chock the front wheel and winch up the back end using an engine hoist!)I was straight out on the 961 and did about 70 miles. The thing I notice with this bike is how beautifully smooth the throttle action is, none of this Euro 5 snatchiness. Having to keep the revs below 3500 for the time being is hard but the bike feels good and goes really well. And I can't believe the attention it gets from bikers and non-bikers, I've been asked twice already by passers-by for permission for them to take photographs. I've never had this with my Bonneville in 16 years! It's hard not to look cool with the 961, but putting on my open face helmet and then snapping off one leg of my (prescription) shades whilst fitting them into the helmet helps!
