The box shaped oil tanks on the pre 71 Commandos is missing the oil line return from the engine breather. What are people out there doing to solve this problem? The tank needs another hose barb to accept a hose from the engine breather (or from a reed valve breather). The way it is I think you have to run both the engine breather and the oil tank to an oil catch tank. Modifying the stock oil tank by adding another barb is best but a PIA. Just how was it set up as stock (I don't have one here to look at). In the image below you can see there is no vent on the tower.

There are 2 different versions of the box shaped oil tank. Both have a tube to connect the breather hose. One version has it in the tower, the other one next to the tower. The vent towards the air filter is inside the oil tank. It starts at the top of the tower. There is a hole at the front of the tank near the bottom. Some owners modified this setup because a lot of oil ends up in the air filter.
