Press 1 for English

Press 1 for English ... grrr ....

Went to see a Consultant yesterday ( spinal fusion ) and could hardly understand a word he said, got more info from his gestures and his pointing at the skeleton next to his desk ! I left after a few minutes to get his secretary into the room to " translate " and the crazy thing was he didn't seem to mind at all ?!?

A complaint to my insurers was a surprise, they happily provided another appointment for someone with a greater command of the language and even told me this sort of thing crops up quite often .......... wow !

Grandad, if you need any advice in regard to a spinal fusion PM me. One year ago, I had a cervical laminectomy from C3 to C7 and a fusion from C3 to T1. I'm doing rather well. Top notch surgeon. At least I can still walk. In regard to speaking a language you understand, I and my surgeon are both fluent. :)

LHR (London) found the fix for English as a second language problem, especially with third world crews, by having no taxiway signs and simply a system of green or red centerline lights. Taxiing planes told to follow the greens.
This is a funny clip of a prank on the Heathrow announcers several years ago.
