I want to replace the pilot light globe on my 73 Norton 750 with a halogen globe, say 20 watts, and use as a daylight running light. I have already converted the hi/lo beam to to a halogen setup, powered through a relay. However, the problem that I have is that the pilot light remaims on when the main beam[hi/lo] is selected. Running the pilot light with a halogen globe in conjunction with the main beam would place to much drain on the charging system.
Have I got the existing setup incorrect, or can I isolate the pilot light so that it is extinguished when the main beam is on?
Cheers

Bazz,
I've wired an auxiliary switch to just power the main lamp only excluding the pilot and rear light for day time running. It might be an easier option.
