This bike (1998 Speed Triple) belongs my Nephew, handed down from his Aunt, when his Uncle (other side of his fam) passed untimely.
It had sat ten years.
I got it running today.
After getting the fuel pump tidied up (another thread), confirmed it pumped jumping the relay, I had oiled the combustion chambers, tried it, wouldn't start.
Back to it today, check spark (none) and check pulsing at injectors with my noid light, (none).
Verified all fuses good.
I swapped in new relays for the ECM and fuel pump.
CEL now came on with the key. (It hadn't before, only oil and neutral lights.
We could here the fuel pump run
, and now the spark test was positive.
Some ether in the air inlet and some significant cranking gave some intermittent firing.
Swapped the dry break fuel lines, some more ether, half throttle and BAM! Oil smoke, acorns & mouse turds blasting out the pipe. [ATTACH=full]115213[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]115214[/ATTACH]
