We have just had F1 car racing held at Alburt Park in Melbourne. Watching F1 car racing at ALbert Park is like watching slot car racing. It is run between safety fences and one spectator still received minor injuries. If it wa run at Phillip Island handling the crowds would be a problem, but it would make more sense.
I suggest our current generation of young people have become watchers, rateher than participants. However participation requires effort. Motorcycle road racing these days, is as close as anyone can get to flying a Spitfire during WW2. So for anyone who enjoys an adrenalin rush, it is worth doing.
