P11 Lucas headlamp

Is this called a Lucas 700? What other bikes did they come on? Need to find one, my glass is now broken.

Yeah, they should all be the same lucas reflector - 700ss?

Careful if you get one of the Indian ones on ebay with the bulbs - they may be 6V. Still worth the price, though.

Thanks Bill, I cannot put an India headlight on this bike so will need to wait until an original one comes up on eBay.

Are the originals sealed or can you just replace the glass lens?

It's a lens with integral reflector. Two holes in the reflector - one for the main bulb with a metal trim to hold the bulb socket, one for the pilot light with a rubber grommet to hold the bulb.

Kind of like one of these:

Hi/Lo is 45/40 watt and a 5 watt pilot bulb for park or daytime running.

Many thanks. I am away from my bike so could not determine for myself.

I need to buy one since my bike fell while on the side stand and shattered it.
If anyone has a spare they can sell, please contact me via PM.

The reflector should be the same as Commando, Triumph, BSA, etc. as long as it is 7 inch and not 5 3/4 as used on Hi-Rider and some Triumph and BSA. These are also available in Bosch, WiPac and others to accept a halogen bulb if you are not after the Lucas logo. You would need to also install a standard bulb connector for the halogen type.

Is the one in the above photos correct and original to 67-68? Is there supposed to be a date code molded in the front glass?
