Well as you all know before my accident i started building a OO train layout but 8 months lay up, hospital and rehab i finally started back on the layout, today finished laying the track the way i want it, just got to finish the cork bed and tack it all down before starting on the wiring.
Well took pics today of work done so far, so what other hobbies do everyone have other than our Nortons or othe bikes and cars.
Here are some pics of my layout so far, still lots to do but its good therapy for my recovery.

I have a few hobbies that get a day or two every other month or so.

Fishing... nice large Red Drum (Redfish) at an exclusive fishing spot within a power plant cooling pond compound

3 "normal" size Redfish and 2 Southern Flounder (yes, the small one is legal size)

Sally doesn't like "fishing", she only likes "CATCHING"... (2) limits of Speckled Trout & one Red Drum

Note my hair is not gray in any of those photos, although I've been fishing recently I don't have photos.

We had this old barn, from the 1940s, on the ranch where I grew up in Laredo, Texas. I drew it from memory, not perfectly proportioned...

This is some of the cool stuff that was INSIDE the barn...

In my younger days I had a BSA air rifle it was a very powerful slug gun, even had the rails for a scope, had it in my wardrobe for a few years with my old 22 rifle, went to get it out one day and both guns were gone, my fu cking brother had gone through my house while we were out and stole both guns but didn't notice they were missing for a few months later, he didn't live here but he was obsess with guns and explosives, he got hit by a motorcycle across the road from our house when he was 3 years old and suffer a bad head injury, I didn't trust him with guns in his hands and he hung around with some bad people, these days we need gun license and a gun safe to keep guns in, but back then everyone had a slug gun growing up.

GP I also have a love of fishing/crabbing have had my share of boats all my life, we have some great fishing destinations in SE Queensland and of course as you know the Great Barrier Reef have fished the southern end of the reef out from 1770 and heading up there in December as Debra's brother lives up there for his 60 birthday and another mate I will get a day on the reef, I might have to put my pirate outfit on to match my peg leg lol.

Some pics of one of my trips on the reef out from 1770 1 1/2 hr off shore in this boat.

Very impressive! Looks like some significant TIME invested in that setup (never mind the cost)
I sold my project bike to get started on my new hobby, but the train layout has replaced the slot car track that I built but the trains have always been my love, the 2 train at the engine shed are from my younger days before I got into motorcycles, I have 4 new engines but they are still in the draw of the cabinet under the lay out still in their packaging they are DCC ready I just got to install the decoders in them before I can run them, I still got lots to do yet doing the wirering for the DCC controls, soldering feeder wires to the track, this is a long term project but I have plenty of time on my hands.

I have everything that I need to do all the wiring as well the decoders for the engines and controls, switch motors, but the 8 months layup recovering has put my hobby behind on the back burner but now I have the time again and the last week or 2 was getting the track down the way I wanted, had to change some of the ways I originally had the track laid but wasn't happy with it, soldering the feeder wires to the track will be a time consuming job as it needs a lot of feeders for smooth engine running.

I was writing down all the cost so far, but it scared me so stopped keeping track of the spend, what Debra don't know the better, but the main thing now its keeping me busy and sane and I am in no hurries I have so many things to catchup/work on and I got to start on the Norton as well now that all hospital visits are done and dusted with rehab.

With selling the slot car layout and the Manxman project bike I had a good start with over $6500 in the kitty, I have just about spent all that money now on the layout and I still got lots more to spend on rolling stock, I buy when things are on sale and buying direct from the UK, I got some diecast model cars/trucks 50/60s style coming from the UK in 1:76 scale cheaper to buy there than here even with postage added and one of my engines the 9F I got it on special save $150 on it and is already set up for DCC running with a decoder already installed from the UK, I was still in rehab hospital when I ordered it and had to wheel myself down in my wheelchair to the post office to pick it up which wasn't far from rehab hospital, I am sticking to Hornby trains with rolling stock and engines of that era, the 9F was the last built British steam trains, built for heavy freight with 10 drive wheels but prove they could pull express passenger trains at 95 MPH, but they only had a short life before they replace with diesel power.

Fu ck I am really getting into this new hobby, its taking my life over lol, I am processed🤪🤣

Missing one of my favorite T shirts, I have a few Norton T shirts but this one is the one I like, I have searched the house everywhere and I can't fine it anywhere, seems things go in the wash to never be seen again, Debra has clothes laying around everywhere in our house, she not a very tidy person and one of her faults, it's got to be around somewhere, hope I haven't left it somewhere when I was on one of my travels.
That fish I am holding is called a mother in law fish, not the best eating fish but it was the biggest one caught on the day, not bad if made into fish cakes.
Anyway has anyone seen my Commando shirt

Well , I do Art every day , I did 2 art openings today , via Norton power , I fish , every chance I can get . That includes international fishings , 37 countries doing it to date .. off to Mexico soon for more . Life is good . Enjoy .

I am serious about catch and release , with a smile . One or 2 on the charter boat cooler on ice is good . Push aside the beers for them . Here in the first world we have rules and regulations , which I teach people about . A few days ago I spotted someone breaking a big rule , gave him shit and said I will not call in the MNR unless I see you doing it again . I should have been an MNR officer . All life is retrospect .
In Mexico I released a fish and the Capitain said I have never seen anyone do that in my 30 years of being a Capitain . My moment of happy glory .
Enjoy .

Not very cool but I do like a bit of gardening.

Rosemary, sage and oregano grow like crazy in my herb bed. Will wipe out everything bar the bay tree if given a chance.
