My buddy, a Harley nut... has changed his spark plugs yet again! Does this a couple of times a year! This time he removed the NGK iridium plugs... he's only done about 3k kms. I always ask why??? It makes him feel good knowing he has " new plugs" in the bike.
I then tell him about my Hondas that ran NGK Irridium plugs for well over 60k kms with zero issues.
Response: Well, at least I know that I have new plugs! (With HD stamped on them!) Seriously, he is still thinking about ancient "Champion Plugs" and their reputation
I asked if he'd fiddled with the irridium plugs... Mmm... maybe, the gap seems too big.... Did you bend the side and measure it?
Mmmm... ok, he did... I said the tips are extremely delicate & no need to measure/adjust!!! So, he put a new set of HD plugs back in, because someone else had an issue (not with NGK Irridium plugs
)
The killer is that then I told him that I had bought some new plugs for the 750cc Commando ... Yup! Champion N7Yc
He has a box full of plugs... all perfectly good. I just hope he doesn't swap out the GOOD plugs for a dead one!
