Sorry for all the requests waiting for a one piece for the boltup hubs, Commando not Atlas.
well I think I got that sorted now and should be off to the CNC machine shop to place my order
tomorrow, it'll still be a few weeks, nothing happens in any hurry here unfortunately,
but as other one piece axle owners have suggested, fitting the axle from the left side is the go.
keep you posted.
then I better organize one for Atlas.

I would imagine the Atlas one would be pretty interesting to us over here in Europe.

It would fit the featherbeds, so potentially the Dominator and ES2 guys.

I am definitely interested, and I know of several others that would be too!

Yes actually the Featherbed one would be the most popular, I do the Manx type rear hub for Featherbeds but its not cush drive and has a 47t sprocket but of course one piece axle, so a Commando cush drive hub with one piece axle is near perfect for the Featherbed guys, what will be PERFECT is my proposed proper cush drive Commando hub with one piece axle. nothing happens over night, but eventually does.

I'm still enjoying the six pot brake you supply.
Had a fellow Vincent /Norton man give it a good lookover on Sunday. He is an Australian metallurgical engineer for Esco, in Vancouver for one year to travel North America making improvements at various Esco foundries. His name is Rodney Brown. He was the R in the short lived RTV Vincent fiasco and was involved in the foundry work for those bikes and also the later Terry Prince high performance top end kits for Vincents.
But his favourite bike to ride is a mk3 Commando, which he purchased on new in 1976 and has put 125,000 miles on to date. Although he has had to do a lot to the bike to get it that far down the road, his only complaint is the crappy original front brake, so a fellow club member brought him over to look at your setup. He was impressed and will be ordering!

How much do I need to have in my account for the early one piece axle?

I think you might need to talk to Chuck! :D (for those out of the states it's from an investment commercial)

I would imagine it would be similarly priced.

They are not available yet, a few weeks, but same price as the later Commando's

Early Commando One Piece Axle is done, just waiting for another day or so for zinc plating of the spacer and do some final checking and should be set to go.
The Atlas one should be ready in a few days also, machining the longer axles for these now.

Put me down for an atlas one madass!

This will be a great addition to my slimline featherbed café racer build!

will this fit a 69 commando ?

I'm ready for one too. Where's the instructions? I can't figure out how it works.

Early Commando boltup sprocket/drum one piece axle, NOT cush drive, NOT Atlas.
To fit: remove old stub axle, replace with stub axle replacement, replace boltup sprocket/drum.
refit wheel, fit axle from left side, Hold axle, tighten nut. cant get much simpler than that. US$90 shipped by Fedex to US, other places may be more or less. PM me if interested

Steel, hi-tensile or stainless ?

The date on your camera looks to be galloping ahead ?

axles are stainless, spacer is steel.
NO threaded portion of the axle resides within the confines of the swingarm, the thread on the axle ends halfway thru the swingarm sideplate, therefore there is no weak shear point, if someone thinks they are going to shear 9/16" stainless
round bar by normal or abnormal riding then they are dreaming.

So it's really a 2 piece axle with the fake stub axle. I get it. I was wondering how a single piece would work when I was looking at mine the other day. I hope they don't come bent like the picture, kidding. Nice that it comes with the nuts too. Great.

I'll be in touch.

Well, actually it's a 5 piece if you count all the parts.
