I do the pilot modification, but then I have a Bridgeport mill with DRO measuring to 0.01mm. With a drill press you risk killing the carb.

I don’t think Burlen even sells a #2 cutaway in hard anodized and interestingly for the 930/7 carb specify a #3 cutaway

Yea will have to look at those if all else fails. Was trying to maintain some level of originality

I’ve put a pair of the Wassells on my Triton. They seem to do what is needed. Be pre-warned you will need to change the pilot jets for a size larger. A more experienced user also suggests you rejet it with genuine Amal jets to ensure they are the correct size and not just what is marked. I don’t know, I’m just saying what I’ve been told. I haven’t done so yet as I don’t know if it’s running right or wrong for now, and it’s not likely to get another looking at for a couple of months.

It's a very good price. Did Burlen lower it's price recently? In light of this, I would opt for new Premiere carbs also.

My 2 pennies (cents) worth.
You will never be able to tune worn carbs, compensating for the increased air flow at low revs messes up the air fuel mixture at high revs. Needle and needle jets do wear but in general just changing old jets for new jets is a waste.
Putting new slide into worn carbs is an expensive way to find out the carb bodies are worn.
All of which leads to ….. new Premiers
Yes they are expensive (what isn’t) but across all bike forum you will find “Premiers transformed the bike”
