Oil Filter Plumbing

Just don't use the infamous diagram from the workshop manual that shows the direction of oil flow incorrectly.
Is there something wrong with the routing on this diagram? I just plumbed an oil filter into my 71 , but haven't started it yet.

No, it's the '1972' parts manual diagram that's wrong.

If you are using a sump plug reed valve system a lot of oil will by pass the filter, nearly all when clearing a wet sump. Keep the screen, may not be a conciseness just my opinion.
Yes those were my thoughts before i decided to fit a magnetic oil tank bung..

Speaking of magnetic if electro magnetic solenoid type valves were 100% reliable (which their not) it could possibly make wet sumping a thing of the past...

The switched valve is the failsafest I've seen.

The manual E switch is most definitely the best 👌
