Oil cap seal

Been back and forth with this bloody thing, tried cork, rubber, different grades and thicknesses of rubber, and yes the cap is torqued down properly. I think the crank vent pointing directly at the underside of the cap doesn't help thing either

Brand new cap with a brand new cork seal= leakage. So I'm interested in what you could offer Jim!

That picture of the cap suggests the bike is NOT an Atlas or Dommie.
If by any chance it is an Atlas or Dommie, the problem may not be the seal, but the leak may be coming from under the "L" shaped tab that is the oil tank top mount.
Vibration flexes the mounting tab, which in turn flexes the oil tank roof, and results in cracks under the tab. The leak seems to be coming from the cap, but is actually weeping under the mounting tab. I have the fix if anyone is in need.
I use cork in my oil cap.

Laurentdom, Acadian and Everybody - I forgot to mention that they can leak at the joint where the funnel (cap receiver) is joined to the oil tank. If your's keeps leaking no matter what seal you use then look for this problem. I had to braze mine to get it to stop leaking.
Texas Slick- Its an after market cap for an Atlas. But its oil tight now with the brazing and the silicone seal. It leaked with the cork seal.

Hi All,
Slick, I had exactly the issue you describe with the "L" shape tab, which is the reason why I installed another (Atlas) tank where that tab had been very properly reinforced,
and Jim I'm fully certain that my leak does not come from the cap receiver-to-tank junction.
You're both right saying that (most) leaks may come from those reasons, but mine is definitely due to a cap-to-cap receiver bad sealing.
