Going through some old parts I saw this auto advance plate marked with both 5 and 12 degrees advance slots.
Any idea what it came from?

Some BSA singles used that type of advance, 12 deg was used for battery ignition, 5 deg was used for ET, or energy transfer ignition. No battery, the coil got AC right from the alternator, if everything was perfect sometimes it would work.

Triumph did one as well , i think it was on the energy transfer model 350 or 500 .
