Nut Cutlets??

If they had a "REAL" job they wouldn't have time to cry about milk cows. What are the children going to do without milk. As crazy as Californians Passing a law to give each pig 2 acres space before butcher! Sorry these people try to force their beliefs on all society, piss me off!

They piss a lot of people off, I personally don’t think they’re doing their causes any good, it’s the public they’re trying to influence here, so if they lose the public support through their actions, what exactly will they have achieved ?!?

Nice wooden structure though.

I thought spraying the paint into fountain outside buckhouse was a bit weird
It killed loads of frogs !!!

If you research the environmental impact of plant based milks they are arguably worse than cow milk production.

Yes but that’s extinction rebellions agenda… and this is animal rebellion.

Each would happily sacrifice the others agenda to forward their own!

Which I guess is another problem with such groups, by definition it’s impossible to please them all.

Seems the milk plant has quite a good supply of HGV drivers. Reports elsewhere of problems finding drivers.
A long time blockade will force dairy farmers to get rid of thousands of tons of milk, causing another environment problem.

Brighton council is Green party run, guess which UK council is bottom for % recycling of waste, yes Brighton. When your core belief is that perpetual motion would be possible, except that the fossil fuel industry has conspired to hide the technology, don't expect any practical actions.

A farmer I knew had ~250 cows for dairy production, and when they reached a certain age they were sent abroad (alive) for meat. Each cow was 'worth' £1000 (so I was told). He had a modern milking parlour, and used his arable fields to grow fodder for the cows. But BSE put the end to exporting his cows, and milking is a loss making business, so he got rid of the cows and now grows cereals and rape etc.

Which raises questions about food production and reliability of supply.

And the logic, or lack of, in turning fields into housing estates.

green lunatic AOC in 'our' congress sez cow farts destroying the ozone or some crazy shit like that these people need to get a real job work on truck docks work on road crew work in car factory or something constructive

You wanna talk logic…

What about the logic of turning over productive farm land for solar panel farms…?!

NOw NOw Alan, Our politicians don't fart so they have to blame something for the smell in Washington!!

the stench is overwhelming lately i would run for office but i lived in several adults only/swinging singles apartment complexes back in the late 1970s and i am sure someone would come out of the woodwork with accusations of 'fondling' or 'grab assing' or 'inhaling'

I was curious about that, and asked about it in a discussion on anther forum. I was told that the land beneath them could be used for grazing - so not entirely wasted. Also, it becomes a haven for insect life - so again useful to agriculture - we need Bees etc to pollenate crops. But I agree that it doesnt make obvious sense. I also saw a discussion re. the amount of maize being grown, apparently to meet the demand for ethanol in petrol. I have a vague feeling that growing crops to feed vehicles rather than humans isnt quite right.

The ground beneath solar panels might be a good place for polytunnels though?

Any farmers on the forum? an authoritative answer would be interesting.

p.s. I am not an eco-fascist and I am way too old to be a snowflake, but I would prefer to see fields used for making food for humans rather than the things they are seemingly used for. And that includes politicians having a self induced erotic spasm over fast trains.

Not the solar farms around here, panels are far too low and close for any grazing (apart from rabbits praps) !

Insects and bees are a fair point… but wouldnt they also be happy in crop fields ?
