I have hundreds of pictures of dunstall parts I have collected over the years. From those I have been able to make some parts. The centerstand is going good so far.

Keep us/ME posted regarding your centerstand. Also, don't know if you need the smaller mounting plates to fit those shorty mufflers. I have one off the bike you could use as a template.

The plates I have look like they will work out prefect. Could you post a picture of the smaller plate next to a ruler?

I fitted a dunstall centre stand to my roadbike years ago because i used a 2 into 1 exhaust
it is useless
not only is it very heavy to put the bike on centrestand but after a while it simply twisted so that both feet were no longer parrallel
also it is very narrow so the bike is not stable unless put on perfectly flat and hard underground
in one word RUBBISH
throw it away and use your sidestand
ps you do need those small alloy engineplates to fit that stand

Re: 1974 Commando 850 Dunstall build.

Slowly buying the last pieces to finish the build. Air filter, cables and front brake line are on their way. I have to do some more powdercoating of a few pieces. I was going to buy a fuel line, but the cheap side of me said to make my own banjo's, so I did.....

Saved myself $60 on the fuel line.
Just a few little loose ends to finish up and it will be done, just in time for the snow to set in, oh well.

Re: 1974 Commando 850 Dunstall build.

The last bits shipped today from Oldbritts. I sterted in on the wiring yesterday, ignition works. Now to tie up all the loose ends. I have all the parts. It's getting close, and we had our first flurries today, so no hurry now until spring.

Re: 1974 Commando 850 Dunstall build.

She's looking good Brent, pity it won't be done before the weather change.
What did you end up doing for carbs, I think you were going to try the "new" Amals, yes ?
AC.

Re: 1974 Commando 850 Dunstall build.

A temporary set of nice used amals I scored for cheap with a complete aircleaner I needed. My funds have dried up and I had to make a command decision for now. I'll get it going on these, then upgrade as funds allow. The parts arn't selling as fast as needed. I need to get rid of a bunch of stuff for the combat resto next.

After searching for a suitable aluminum seat pan and facing dissapointment, I started to make my own, here's about 45 minutes of work so far.

Don't bottom out tire into that very cool loop cover - I found I couldn't get away with even with 2" extra height and travel on next Ms Peel and 50+ lb less weight.
On Peel I'm fitting some Al sheet metal guards but may use a section of Lexan to show off the rear of submarine air station and oil filter plus a hugger thingy if I can figure that out cheap and simple.

This arrived with the christmas presents fronm the UK

Made a decision, this thing is going to be as much alloy as possible. It's my medium, must be all those years in aviation working with it. I purchased one of these today

http://www.ebay.com/itm/260913246008?ss ... 1423.l2649

And will be looking for alloy yokes and making another set of alloy engine and trans mounts and a swingarm. it will be fun and shiny.

Steady on! You will be making an alloy frame next, O no i could have sparked an idea :!: Have a look at the cosworth challange, i bet if anyone on this forum could, it would be you wolfy
