Well, after 2 1/2 years of on-off fettling, a certain amount of procrastination and a shed-load of mission creep, I arrived at a point where the battery was in, the tank was on & fuel plumbing done, oil system back together and I was running out of reasons not to give that tempting green button a press.
When I bought the bike it was with a non-working electric start, but working starter motor. I set to, and after good advice from the fine folk of this forum I replaced the worn-out sprag clutch & mating surfaces, fitted the CNW upgraded cables, a 200w alternator, Motobatt battery, Podtronics rectifier/regulator, Pazon electronic ignition & single Mikuni.
I pulled the plugs to spin the motor to refill the oil system and was amazed at how quickly the system turned the engine over! I was then running out of excuses not to fire it up, so plugs in, fuel on, choke on and press the button. Crikey, it fired up instantly, straight to a fast idle!
What a joyous thing, I still have some odds & sods to tidy up but my 'Mk2B' should see the road this summer. I'll post pictures when I drag it blinking into the light. Thanks all for the advice & encouragement so far!

Cheere, Jon
