The older (original?) Norvil floating disc hub carrier used to have a large circlip at the rear of the carrier to hold the disc in place. I've noticed the new Norvil disc hub carrier doesn't have this circlip anymore, just a pressed alloy dish to hold the disc in place at the back.

This seems to be very bad engineering to me, has anybody had any problems with this arrangment?

Are we discussing the real deal, i.e. what was used on the Production racers, or the "modern" variants sold by a company of that name?
On the real ones the disc was held in place by one big dished steel washer that located on the disc carrier lip and pressed against the hub.

The spare one I've got the big dished steel washer is made of spring steel and acts as a diaphragm.
