Despite a bit of a rough start in our communications, Rob Jameson remained a professional and offered real alternatives to settle this matter. This issue has been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties. Rob & Norton are to be commended for their efforts at providing real customer service.

Back on the road again......there will be no more tank bubbling!
Thanks to Rob Jameson and the painter extraordinaire Brent Budgor of Vintage-Vendor Painting in Vermont for making this all happen.
How does the Monza Cap look gentlemen?

    The Monza looks the dogs!

So, we have an alloy tank now?

Can you confirm the thread size and type of the Monza please?

2 1/2" x 18TPI. This cap was from an ebay seller and claims to be Made in England. I think it was, like most, Made in India and "ASSEMBLED" in England.

Hello SgtUSAF80 ! You are the first painted aluminum Norton 961 tank I have seen. Good Job. And I suppose the aluminum gas tank is the only way out of this fuel related mess we are in !

Apologies for doubling up on the posting. Things got a little confusing when trying to post both photos. I thought I'd deleted the first one. Next time I'll find a 10 year old kid to help me out.

Shouldn't have read this thread. My tank is staring to bubble under the gold striping on the right side. I'm not a happy camper right now. The bike has 1100 miles on the "clock". Never even been rained on and has spent half if it's life in a climate control garage with its six siblings. Owned over 20 motorcycle so far and never had one do this.

Sorry to hear that. The plastic/nylon (whatever they are) must have been a cost reduction effort . I wish they would just go to all metal ! Alum or steel. I wonder how their V4 carbon fuel tanks will fare ?

This is what I found had the best results for ethanol in gas. Look it up guys especially if in the USA . Use NO Ethanol Gas if you can find it . Go to the Marina's if near the Ocean or Great Lakes . They usually have No ethanol Gas at the Marina . Metal Gas Tanks is the best solution , works every time . Or go to a Off Road style gas tank with No paint and let the vapors escape .

    Wow!
That's some list of things it does.
I wonder if it cures baldness?;)

Be happy that your Gas Tank hasn't bubbled yet . It may only be a matter of time for us . In NY you are stuck with ethanol blends only which is even worse. That's why I mentioned the Marinas and the Biobor .

I am hoping for a $3,000.00 + US Dollar Christmas or Birthday gift myself. Even if I don't need it now .
