Norton CS1

Hello...a family member in the UK has a 1928 Norton CS1 race bike that he may want to sell. It runs fine. Could anybody tell me the best way for him to try and sell it? Also.....any idea of how much it might be worth!? thanks!

he should take a whole bunch of really good close up pictures and write up a nice history

and then list it the United Kingdom Ebay motors for world wide bidding

Indeed - when 'common' ole 30s race Inters are asking £25,000 or £30,000 on UK ebay, then a 20's CS1 is much more sought after in comparison.

You know the old saying though, 'a race bike is only as good as its last rebuild', so write down EVERYTHING known about it. Note anything that is not good about it, buyers hate feeling they have been fooled. And then trim it to be readable, with suitable pictures. (and none out of focus !).

Be realistic though, the buyer that wants it may not see it first time.
And race condition is not nearly the same as a highly polished concours example...

P.S. Some of the specialised auction houses are getting truly remarkable prices for really outstanding bikes - if its really good, he may want to consider this option.
They take a fair % (as in large-ish). Can but enquire.....

The old Walter Moore engine ? Not nearly as good as the engine which replaced it. I'll give him a hundred quid for it and collect. It'll save him having to pay someone to take it away. No-one wants those old bikes these days.
