Norton 850 Hepolite rings Order

My first Norton. Hepolite rings NOS. No instructions. Oil rings and expander obvious. There are two comp rings left. One is chrome colour, next is black and says "top" on it. Cannot seem to find a definitve answer as to which is the 1st ring and which is the second ring. Any advice is certainly appreciated. Thankyou.

Chrome is the top ring, does it have any markings or an inside step? second is the black ring with the word top facing up

Thankyou for your response. The chrome ring is square. Has the AE marking. I will fit it to the 1st land. The black ring that says top, has an inner upward facing bevel. I will fit that to the second land. I have already fit my oil rings w expander. All rings are from an .010 set put to my std pistons. I am using a moderate .016 for gap on all.
This is my first post on the site. I do appreciate the expertise of members here. The Commando is a rescue, bought in poor shape. Friends say I will like the Norton riding experience. Looking forward to it.

The paper bag the AE rings were supplied in should have a diagram showing how the rings are to be fitted printed on it. I may still have one and if so will post pics.
