Alrighty croz, good to know what to expect with just cam chain tension slack and will be educational on how long before hints of loose noise return. Manual says every 5000 miles but usually works out as once every new owner change or engine blow up recovery.

This one's for someone who got caught in one of those really bad tornadoes.
I suppose you'd have to have seen those pictures of pieces of straw pushed through a picket fence.

It actually took me a minute to get the joke! Hey it's still early on Monday here!

After I saw Ludwig's post I ordered a timing cover gasket. Seeing as how the engine in the video sounded normal to me!

Yep sir foxy ludwig knows his Commandos too.

Hm, set me straight but I thot all the S's 2 , 3, 4 were flat tappet grinds and took special order for radius lifter cam. Cam chain slack changes in its cycle around as cogs never perfectly centered and springs tug and release. Manual has the details on 3/8" slack setting. Big lash cams make racer like noises.

The norton cam chain is short so dont do too much adjusting, about 1.5% elongation is
max, dont go to 2% as some experts say as this means your running on soft stuff.
