OK, I threw the question out here because there are a bunch of people here that are very smart. :D Now heres the kicker. The bike is a twin cylinder, water cooled, 1960's two stroke with a distributor , 6 volt coil ignition . Does that upset the apples and oranges cart?

I once rode a '1958 Model' Scott, built in 1972 by Matt Holder......so I guess this could be a Scott, Scott themselves having gone bust in 1957, I am having trouble identifying what other bike might fit this description!

In a Norton Commando forum...?
I'll play. My first thought was DKW but that was a 1930s watercooled 2-stroke triple. Did they still make them in the 1960s? With Lucas coils? As a twin? Probably not. Oh well.

Hi jimbo.
Are the coils sorted on the bike?
The dunstall and the accompanying story has a familiar pathos.
My Norton and I have been together since 1981 while most friends before and since those times have not survived.
