Visited a friend who repairs machine tools for a living and has a large workshop at his home. One of the sidelines he has at the moment is machining raw cast barrels for Les Emery (Norvil). He's done a few but has stopped as he isn't sure that the drawings he's been given are correct.

I think the orriginal brief could have been to make a casting that could be used for several capacities? that would pretty much ensure that they could not perfectly match an orriginal although still be workable .

Yes he will be doing different flavours from one basic casting. Including dynamo and alternator versions plus different bore sizes. He will machine off the dynamo mount at front of barrel for the alternator ones.

Including 920 bores do you know ?

No I don't know. All the castings I saw were the earlier style 500/600/650/750 type. There is talk of doing 850 ones but just talk at moment I think. It's the Dominator barrels that people seem to be seeking.

So can I get new barrels for my 1956 Dommie 99 with Dynamo mount on front ?
