new to me vintage tractor

My first experience driving a tractor was in Afghanistan. I'd retired from active duty (US. Navy) and gotten a contract job working on Blackhawks for the Army up north in MEZ by Camp Marmal. It's in the foothills of the Hindu Kush and gets a bit of snow. I show up and I guess it was the next day or so, we go out to tow a Blackhawk in to our hangar and low and behold they were using a John Deer. Later I learned and became a decent enough tractor driver. I was 50 at the time....sort of late I suppose.

Never too late!
We've had a few well publicised instances of accidents in the UK because we allow 16 year olds to tow trailers with minimal (if any) training or supervision as it all comes under the the umbrella of: 'Agricultural Use' To see these behemoths swaying from side to side at full throttle with scant regard for other traffic under the 'control' of some spotty teenager just seems a mite too lenient at times, IMHO...
(Will get some pics of my mate's Trusty here soon. Norton powered lawn mower!!)

I did once ride (on my Commando) to northern Italy. My mate was riding a Laverda 3CL, and we went to stop over at his uncle's farm.

In the barn was a Laverda combine harvester.
