ALL factory Dommies and Commandos came with alloy rods.
Apart from the early ones, that were 6" and 1.5" journals and a bit fragile if tuned a lot, they have a good reputation. Most 'rod problems' seem to be sludge trap related, or piston problems ?
It is noticeable though that the Domiracer 500's used rods with big journals, like for the 650s and later. You don't hear much though of tuned 99s, maybe someone could comment ?
You don't say what year it is, or what head it has either, that makes a difference...
