New 961 Norton Resources section

Thanks to @Jerry Doe for setting this up. The parts PDF’s were given to me locally, and I realised that we must all have documents or details like this worth sharing. I’ve got a lot of information from the forum, I figured I was due to share a bit back…….the other two documents aren’t from me though.

Would we be breaking any copyright etc. if we added the workshop manuals there as well ? They were given F.O.C. by Simon Skinner of SG Norton.

Seeing that they copied most of the Triumph manuals as their base manual what's copyrighted? Kidding.

What was the agreement of use when Skinner provided it? What version etc?

The SM states " All rights reserved. No parts of this publication may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic mechanical photocopying, recording or otherwise, without the prior written permission of Norton Motorcycles (UK) Ltd." so if TVS bought "everything" then "acquisition of certain assets and the business (“Assets”) of Norton Motorcycles (UK) Limited and Norton Motorcycle Holdings Limited"

Then they own the all the IP (Intellectual property) inventions; literary and artistic works; and symbols, images, names and logos used in commerce plus patents, copyright, industrial design rights, trademarks . That will excluded whatever they sold off unless there was a licensing agreement.

The excel spreadsheet is technically work product as well.
 
Better to seek forgiveness than ask permission? What is the likelihood that the manual/AN site would be brought to Norton Birminghams attention. What could/would they do about it if they did, given that it came from SS originally - and he’s still in the picture. I suspect just ask us to remove it. No hardship.

Not like there is much of a market for the manual

I don't see any issue with uploading that same file to the resources section.
