Here are some shots of my con rods
Understand why you would mark them, but this looks like a bit much
Don't know whether to use them or hang them on the wall
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks Tim

Someone has been at that engine based on the pop marks, I would be looking at the marks on the rod in the photo ending 716.

The line marks are more than normal taking for granted those ones have not been redone a little heavy handed.
A rod that was on the shelf.

Time Warp posted a concern I really think you should look into, that rod looks cracked in two places. I know I wouldn't use it, the time and money would not be worth the risk. Just my opinion.

Those are punch marks to identify the rod and cap as a pair. They all have them, ref what Grandpaul said too. Trust me, the rods don't carry any forces way out there. It's a rare thing for these rods to break, but when they do, it's never out there.

Look at the third photo, Time Warp pointed it out. That below the conrod joint you can see stress cracks in the aluminum casting seam. And i agree with him, unless it's just a scratch. They should be checked. I know that rods are marked. ; )

Those mating marks on the con rods indicate, to me at least, the previous work was performed by a someone who has a clue.
