Need a photo of an original roadster exhaust as fitted to a Combat, were they tucked in right after coming out of the head like the earlier types?

This is my ‘72 combat photo’d in 1973. No not tucked in like the early fastback.

thanks, I think I found a set of correct pipes, now I need a set of correct handlebars.

The bars in LABs roadtest article look similar to early Roadster - quite wide compared to later type?

According to the parts book it's the same handlebar from '70 to '72: 061046
Also shown as the same number through to '75

I have always understood ( perhaps erroneously ) that the UK / Europe spec bikes had lower bars than those made for the USA market . Anyone know for sure ?

According to the '1972', (therefore, Combat) parts list, the handlebar for "Fastback, Fastback LR, Roadster and Interstate USA" was the "061046" which is the Semi-Western handlebar.

"Interstate (Europe)" was the only model at that time to have the "low" 063170 handlebar.

I have a complaint about the pipes that have been available for the last several decades. Some have one side with muffler kicked out more than the other. All that I have had put the muffler position to interfere with the pre Mk3 kick start arm. I have a near new set hanging on the wall that are the former bend.

Mine has the semi western bars , usa import , after getting off my T160 , uk bars, the Norton felt like wheeling a wheel barrow , so I trimmed 30mm a side , it feels better now .
